Description

Ukrainian and Slovak House

We created a cosy place where you can communicate with your peers in your mother tongue, make new friends, study or play board games.

We also provide professional psychological help to people who have found themselves in a difficult life situation and to people with trauma as a result of war.

Our psychologists lead physical exercises combined with therapy for adults.

Women can find support in the company of other women and work on self-knowledge through creative activities.

We provide psychological help for children in the form of games (for the little ones), art therapy, fairy tale therapy or yoga fairy tales.

Children over 8 years old can attend chess and theatre clubs.

Seniors meet in the club, where they receive psychological support, spend time together playing board games, enjoying creative activities, doing exercise and improving computer literacy.

The Ukrainian and Slovak House also provides information and counselling, organizes meetings on the following topics: education, medicine, business, employment, obtaining a residence permit in Slovakia, etc.

Provision of information

We provide information to people from Ukraine in Slovakia in person in the Ukrainian and Slovak House, by phone or on social networks.

We share current information through our Facebook groups: Українці в Словаччині / Ukrainians in Slovakia. We share information on accommodation in our group Житло для біженців в Словаччині / Accommodation for refugees in Slovakia.

We created thematic groups on social networks aimed at looking for work, offering services and donating necessary things. People from Ukraine can find answers to their questions and share their experiences in these groups.

Humanitarian aid

Since 24th February 2022, we have sent 22 humanitarian aid trucks (20 tons each) from Slovakia to Ukraine.

The humanitarian aid was sent to 18 Ukrainian regions, including Kharkov, Zaporozhye, Kyiv, Zhytomyr, Severodonetsk, Lysychanks, Okhtyrka and other front zones.

Ukraine and Slovakia SOS / WE ARE TOGETHER also provides humanitarian aid to two orphanages in Luhansk and Ivano-Frankivsk. We ensure the purchase of hygiene products for small children, but also furniture, bathroom equipment and materials for repairs.
